If there is a more difficult way to average 23-24 mph you can count me out.
Due to the heavy winds and strong field only a couple of riders were willing to set a steady pace at the front of the pack (Tony Gwin, Mike House, and Jonas
Root come to mind). This led to the rest of the race seesawing between 30+ (during attacks and chases) and 19(when the breaks were reeled in). Not a bad
way to spend an evening.
