No one remembered any recent dead-calm road race. Not a breath of wind stirred when the peloton took off into the quiet farmland along the Portage River. Humid, mid-80's, sunny - just what you'd expect for a Summer evening. Even the mosquitoes were happy. With no big breeze, the peloton stayed mostly intact for the entire four lap race, meaning there were some frustrated age-group folks at sprint time. Senior Matt Thourot won, again; Master Mark Armstrong was second and Vet Jon Wright was fifth; Junior Brent Teall out-sprinted Cory Sarks for 33rd.
