It took 10 staff folks to support this race, and the scoring was still chancy
until cleaned up the next morning. But riders said they had fun; nice night,
good crowd, Doc's later.
"It
was a perfect night for racing in late August _ not too hot and no appreciable
wind to make life miserable for the riders. As we had hoped, the Prediction Race
format brought out some new faces and it also provided an opportunity for some
new names with familiar faces to move to the top of the time sheet. The
abundance of gnats also gave a whole new meaning to the term "missed it by
a gnats a##" (After all, this is a family publication.)
