Club Championship Criterium Omnium At OOIP

After years of successful races we finally had one that fell apart. Wonderful cool clear and sunny summer evening, lots of first-class staff (including long-time official Jim Black to drive the pace car) - plus an eager field of competitors for the club championship omnium. So what could go wrong? The communication "system" failed; with no positive way to call out riders for the miss-n-out race the race was a mess. After endless palaver the miss-n-out was scored, but the win-n-out was scratched. The crit and the time trial went off without any more hitches. See how the race was scored here.

Senior Matt Thourot was first, Master Jon Card second, Vet Dave Komives 6th, and Junior Andy Pauken (who missed the first race), 25th.
