Matt Thorout's pleas for helpers brought out almost as many workers as racers. Folks liked the course so well there was talk of hosting a regional race there for next year. Gratop and Thourot duked it out for half the 40+ minute exercise, after which Thourot pulled ahead and stayed there. But Ron Gratop looked so smooth. See his flying re-mount in the center photo, below (if he ever misses he's going to be singing soprano). That's a man to watch for the rest of the 'cross season.
