This
one was close to a wash-out. In spite of a severe thunderstorm warning in the
area, the skies didn't look too bad when the race took off. By the time a dozen
laps had gone by the place was awash with heavy rain and the first thunderclaps
were heard in the West. Race Director Snider gave a 2-lap warning and called the
race. Some of the folks with the higher IQ's had already bailed out by that
time, many of the rest said they would have been happy to keep riding. Oh,
well. Master Jim Regan was first, Senior Anton Tupa fourth, Vet Dave
Komives fifth, Junior Ethan Swepston 11th.
