"Surprise Race" at Bowling Green

Thourot, Clark & Co. put on a race that was more fun than a Sunday school picnic. There was a 10-lap criterium (Sams, Slough and Komives placed 1,2,3), followed by a one-legged time trial. That's right, one leg. Riders went half-way around the course on one leg, then, in front of a marshal, had an interval to allow a switch to the other leg. Iannone narrowly beat out Fenton for that one, with the juniors looking way strong. Then, finally, a one-legged sprint by heats. Fun to watch, for sure. There was one sprint during the crit; Mike Faehnle won that one for a prime of $1.05 (!) Scoring details are here. Master Steve Sams was first, Vet Dave Komives second, Senior Adam Slough third, Junior Corey Brinkman was fifth, and Buckeye Gary Tarsha 13th.
