The race went off on time, thanks to some quick thinking and fast work by Director Mike Iannone and his crew. Heavy weather had put a tree down on the second corner; the crew used a truck, a borrowed chain, a couple of dinky saws and muscle power to clean up the mess. After a few laps into the race five heavy hitters smoked off the front, spreading out the folks behind them who weren't so quick to respond. Mike House, Steve Clark, Dan Clark, Jason Mishka and Dave Komives soon began to lap the laggards. It wasn't too long before House and Clark had spit out the other three. Dan Clark time-trialed it, alone, pleading for some information about his competitors on every lap - fruitlessly, since the folks at the line had no idea exactly what was going on. On the bell lap we saw Clark slip ahead of House by several bike-lengths, but when they appeared around the last corner House was so far ahead he could have coasted the rest of the way home.
Senior Mike House was first, Master Steve Clark second, Vet Dave Komives fifth, Junior Chris Brinkman seventh, and Rachel Steele 12th for the women.
