State Senator Teresa Fedor (D-Toledo) invites you to join her on her Second Annual “Bike to the Capital” from Toledo to Columbus beginning on May 16 in Toledo and ending May 19 in Columbus. You are welcome to join Senator Fedor at any of her stops in Toledo, Bowling Green, Findlay, Upper Sandusky, Marion, and Columbus (some events are still tentative - you will receive details for each of these events next week) or ride with her on her route as she rides on her “Campaign for Healthy Kids”. You can see Senator Fedor’s proposed route using the following link: http://www.bikely.com/maps/bike-path/132079, or contact Senator Fedor’s office at wfroehlich@maild.sen.state.oh.us or 614.466.5204. On her route, Senator Fedor plans to advocate for the importance of physical education and health standards in our public education system. Her mission statement follows: “It is time for Ohio to improve the health and well-being of all our citizens. Ohioans, especially children, are facing many preventable health challenges because of inactivity. Families that eat healthy and stay physically active live longer lives. It is critical we take action aimed at combating chronic diseases to positively impact our future. Working together, communities across Ohio can make a difference.” “In an effort to develop healthy lifestyles for 1.8 million school children our schools can model healthy eating and provide effective physical education programs. I believe a world class education system is attainable by harmonizing academic subjects with quality health and physical education standards. Today I ride from Toledo to Columbus to advocate for these causes and help solve health issues in the beginning of our children’s lives. Please join me in moving forward toward a better, healthier future for Ohio.” Senator Fedor reserves the right to alter or pass over portions of her route due to poor weather conditions or safety concerns. |
