Here are some photos from the Cohutta Race this past Saturday.
Matt rode the 100 mile version and the rest of us choose the 65 mile
route.
This race had sounded a lot more fun in January when I signed up
than it did on Friday night as we watched the weather forecast and
listened to the rain outside our window. Fortunately the
weather had pretty much passed by race time with only a few minutes
of rain during the race. The previous nights rain had,
however, turned the red Georgia/TN clay into an engery sapping mud
sucking mess.
I'll leave the race details to others more eloquent than I (Bryan).
If anyone happens to talk to Matt, ask him if he ever needed to use
his bell to ding anyone out of the way.
Matt Thourot completed the 100 in 8:09:41, placing 22. In the Big Frog 65 Dr. Steve Clark placed 8th with a time of 5:25:28. Steve Sams was 22nd in 5:54:25, Bryan Rex finished 27 (6:08:56) and Jason Mishka was 30th (6:18:35)
