This race was supposed to be the Club Championship Omnium, the first race of the season at OOIP. Severe thunderstorm warnings had been posted, but it looked as if the storms were moving east of us; race preparations proceeded. Just before the 6:30 start time a big thunderstorm cell moved overhead, pounding heavy rain and some hail. By 7:10 it had let up a little, enough for everyone to pack up and head over to Loma Linda's.
