The
Tempo Race is a points race in which one point is awarded to the winner of
each lap. Period. No points for second, third, or anywhere else. All other
rules for points races apply. Riders who do not score any points are
ranked by their finish on the last lap, as in a regular criterium.
Likewise, any riders who tie on points are also separated by the final
sprint. If any rider gains a lap on the field, he or she finishes ahead of
all other riders not gaining a lap; if any rider loses a lap he or she
finishes behind all riders not losing a lap. Confused yet? See rules 2M1—2M7
